PortLog x Veson IMOS Platform Integration FAQs

Do I need to use the PortLog custom view to leverage the power of the Veson IMOS Platform integration?

Yes – when integrated with the Veson IMOS Platform, we recommend that you use the PortLog custom view to review all relevant information. It shows the whole picture to enable you to estimate and update directly from PortLog.

Can I choose which field(s) to update from PortLog?

The “apply to estimate” button will update everything from the card to the underlying estimate. However, you can go into PortLog to amend any figures and push these back into IMOS as an alternative workflow.

In addition, you can manually update the estimate at any time.

Each time an update is made to the estimate, a new call-out to Portlog will be triggered to update the webhook content.

Does PortLog consider which cargo and vessel will be loading or discharging as well as the size of the vessel for estimating days and cost?

Absolutely – we look at the cargo and the vessel size, whether loading or discharging, the ports, and the dates. We also take the commercial terms (load/discharge rate and SHINC/SHEX factor) for each port and look for the best match in our data with that scenario.

How are CP terms used and simulated?

The CP terms are simulated in two ways. We’ve populated the system with a standard set of CP terms. This enables you to get up and running quickly. We also have a more advanced feature around CP terms where we transcribe your recaps and proforma CPs and then these are available within the system to do simulations on your specific CP terms.

Is my Veson IMOS Platform data secure within PortLog?

PortLog and IMOS are secure separately and remain secure when they come together.

Both IMOS and PortLog leverage existing individual environment logic so specific data is sent to a very targeted version of your environment.

Data results differ between each customer as your own data is preferred in the results.
