This week the Observations team celebrated their 1-year anniversary.
Now 1,500 (and growing by the day) Observations cover a wide range of subjects including:
- Weather risks (swell, fog, seasonal differences)
- Port Costs (saving opportunities, cost driver information)
- Navigation (tide and daylight restrictions)
- Cargo operations (local regulations and practices)
- Towage information (tugs billing structure and escort tug requirements)
Each Observation is researched, vetted and posted by the Observations team.
Most Observations are based on real data running through the PortLog platform and so are very robust insights. KIM: This makes me think then what about those that are not based on real data
Alternative: Observations are based on real data running through the PortLog platform, and is researched and vetted by the Marcura Observations Team before being published
All 1,500 Observations are available and searchable to our customers using the PortLog platform (which provides tools to measure and manage time and risk in port for commercial tramp shipping companies).
Kim Ahler, who leads the team, said: “To celebrate the date, we gave specially made polo shirts to all the team. Watch out for those rare and super attractive polo shirts out there 😊.
“Truly an impressive achievement – and big thanks to all those in my team and beyond in PortLog and Marcura who were involved. This has only been possible by combined efforts.
“And 2022 holds so many great possibilities for going even further – we already have an extensive roadmap, so more to come.”
Kim has agreed to make regular posts in 2022 featuring the insights his team produces, so watch this space!
